Towel Day is celebrated every year on May 25th. The purpose of this holiday is to pay tribute to Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Towel Day was first celebrated on May 25, 2001 around 2 weeks after Adams’ death on May 11. On this day, fans carry towels around everywhere they go.
Why a towel? Because as per the book, “A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” So pack your towel to celebrate the day.
How To Celebrate Towel Day
Simply carry a towel with you wherever you go. Wrap it around your waist, or over your shoulders, or wear it like a scarf. Share new ways to wear a towel.
