International Beer Day is celebrated on the first Friday of August each year. According to 2020 statistics from the National Beer Wholesalers Association, Americans aged 21 and older each consume an average of 26.1 gallons of cider and beer every year. The warm days of early August welcome beer drinkers from coast to coast to crack open a cold one or head down to the bar and celebrate International Beer Day with friends and co-workers.
One of America’s newest holidays, International Beer Day created in 2007 by four friends in San Francisco, Evan Hamilton, Jesse Avshalomov, Richard Hernandez, and Aaron Araki. These wanted to bring strangers and friends together over pints and celebrate the craft of brewing beer.
How to Celebrate International Beer Day
If you are one of the thousands of Americans with a home brewery, this day is the perfect opportunity to show off your craft brews to friends and family.
