National Volunteer Week is a week in April to celebrate, honour, and thank those who selflessly volunteer to improve society and make their communities better places. Each year, this week recognizes inspiring people and causes that actively transform the world around us. National Volunteer Week was first established in 1974 and continues growing year after year.

Every National Volunteer Week has a unique theme. This past year, the theme was called “The Value of One, The Power of Many.” The idea behind this was that it sometimes only takes one person to inspire the masses. It also speaks to the importance of working together for a common goal. This year, it will take place from April 24 to 30.

The mission of National Volunteer Week is to give appreciation to those in our communities who strive to make our world a better place through their volunteer work.
